The Lambda was continually developed through nine distinct series and chassis 12000 is a 3rd Series Torpedo example manufactured in 1924. Its first known owner is a Miss N. A. Varley of the UK who we believe owned the car between 1952 and 1960 when it was purchased by long-term owner and ex-UK Lancia Motor Club President Brin Edwards. The car was restored by Edwards in the 1990s and photographs of the restoration are on file.
The current owner acquired the Lambda in 2016 on the passing of Brin Edwards. Recent works include a radiator repair in 2020 by Newquay radiators and a new cylinder head gasket and two new rear springs were installed in 2022.
The car retains its original early brakes with small drums still in situ. The gearbox has been upgraded to a superior 4-speed unit and the engine is a correct specification 3rd Series 2-litre engine. Its original numbered crankcase is alongside and will be included in the purchase price along with a history file containing invoices and original UK MOT certificates dating back to 1991.
This desirable early Lancia Lambda Torpedo remains in good condition and is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
