This is a 1000 Miglia-eligible, 1933 short chassis Le Mans on a UK V5 and with EU taxes paid. It is well known to Ecurie Bertelli and previously restored by Morntane Engineering.
Bearing chassis number B3/238/S, it was originally sold through Winter Garden Garages, with the first owner recorded in the first AMOC register as KG Dace of East Ham, London. The car boasts a continuous history since then with an interesting period immediately post-war including an entry in the Bol d’Or, Concours and hill climb events. Significant Japanese history preceded a restoration in the mid 1980s by Morntane Engineering (predecessor to Ecurie Bertelli). Bought and used extensively in Europe and then Japan by a former chair of the Japanese AMOC, Mr Shimizake, before returning to Europe in 2016.
Today B3/238/S is in good condition. The engine is built around a welded cylinder block from F3/288/S, another short chassis Le Mans, with shell bearings, steel conrods and modern crankshaft. The rest of the car shows nice patina and is in good condition, driving very well. Registered in the UK but with EU taxes already paid, this car could be registered either in the UK or the EU at no additional cost. It is eligible for 1000 Miglia, Le Mans Classic and many more events.
Please contact Ecurie Bertelli for more information or to arrange a test drive.
