Thanks to Edsel Ford’s refined sensibilities for automotive style, the all-new 1932 Ford was remarkably handsome, combining elegant proportions with a modern look that defined the landmark design. Offered for a single model year, the “Deuce” remains one of the most celebrated Fords of the pre-war era. The 1932 model year also marked the introduction of Ford’s legendary flathead V-8, cementing its overwhelming popularity as the foundational blank canvas for the hot rod movement. While the new eight-cylinder engine offered exceptional performance for its price, the four-cylinder Model B remained an economical and capable alternative. Rated at 50 horsepower, the refined Model B engine could be paired with the same attractive body styles as its V-8-powered counterparts, including the desirable Roadster offered here.

Displaying the hallmarks of an extensive restoration, this 1932 Roadster has been correctly identified by its serial number and supporting factory details as a Model B four-cylinder from new, rather than a Model 18 V-8. It is powered by an era-correct 21-stud Ford flathead V-8, equipped with cylinder heads bearing the appropriate 18-6050 part number and the distinctive first-generation “diving helmet” distributor.

Acquired by its current owner in recent years following a restoration under previous ownership, the Roadster’s steel body is finished in period-correct Washington Blue with contrasting black fenders, cream-painted wire wheels, and a light tan convertible top. Further enhancing its presentation is an impressive complement of desirable Deluxe-style equipment, including cowl lights, dual side-mounted spare tires, wind wings, a rear luggage rack, Greyhound radiator mascot, and twin taillamps.

Remarkably presented in essentially stock appearance, this Model B Roadster offers a rare glimpse of the 1932 Ford as it was intended to be seen. Equally suited to display, touring, or Ford club events, this handsome Roadster is an evocative example of one of Ford’s most enduring designs.
