A man and his love affair (UPDATE: note the follower!)

It’s safe to say that we all love our Veteran & vintage cars, but few of us can say the love affair goes back seventy years. When still a young lad, Sir Ray Tindle watched the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run pass by his home and from that day he was hooked. However, it wasn’t until 1964 that he could participate with his own car, a 1904 Speedwell Dogcart, believed to be the only remaining example of the type in the world. The black and white photograph shows Sir Ray in 1964 with his small son Owen in the passenger seat. Since that first drive Sir Ray hasn’t skipped a Run and the 2009 event will mark his 46th LBVCR. Watch him go on Sunday, November 1st!

Update by Philippe Becret who must have eagle eyes as he wrote: "It seems unbelievable to see the same following car with so many years in between!!?? I can just read the registration plate CG9557, it is the same on both photographs!"
