Another logo oddity and not as trivial as yesterday's issue. This is a detail of a 1920 advert for "The Car with a Longer Life." A front-engined, watercooled 6 cylinder car. The insiders of course know within seconds that we show you the world-famous Westcott brand logo. Now don't think this was a designer's oddball. They used the same design in the year before (scroll down at Kittyprint.com). To us it is clear the industrialist Westcott must have had an outspoken opinion in these matters. What else is the explanation that he bought and lived for years in: a Frank Lloyd Wright villa. A visit to this last link is a must. Not only for the photos of the house, also for the portrait of Mr. Westcott). So when you happen to have a few old Westcott shares in a drawer you could try and start an interesting dialogue with the other company who is using the round variety of the Westcott logo... UPDATE by Frazer Sloan:"You have to know, there was a pre-war VW, it was called Varley Woods, made in England."
