A Sunbeam at last ! (UPDATE, see below)

We had several mystery cars up here lately that one after another received a no-Sunbeam label from Peter Ransom. On at least one occasion he was advised by Bruce Dowell who was working on his: Sunbeam - "The Supreme Car" - 1899-1935. A book to drown in when the garage is too damp & cold. Except for the red linen binding the book has no color but brilliant black & white, but still is a colorful report of the Sunbeam passenger cars. You'll find a breathtaking wealth of vintage photos, postcards, post-war pre-war barnfinds and a few 'later' photos like this showroom shot. On display a 1934 Twenty Five Sunbeam plus her owner, the charming Patricia Phoenix, probably better known to you as 'Elsie Tanner' (corrie.net). Click the photo to see more of the car. But there is lots and lots more striking Sunbeam-ware to discover. Like the poster "Journey to Iraq on a 25 HP Sunbeam". Strictly automotive speaking one of the more spectacular coachworks is the futuristic 1926 saloon, built by Surbiton Coach & Motorworks (Surbico) for a Mr. Woolf Barnato. In short Bruce Dowell and Landmark created a 'wannahave'. The computer still has a long-long way to go to win the battle against fine printed paper. (photo courtesy Landmark Publishing)
Update: at this point the new book is not yet on their website. You can e-mail to publisher Chris Gilbert
