a UK girl in a US car ?

Ladies first. According to Bryan Goodman's new entertaining paperback 'American cars in Prewar England.' the owner is: "Lady Astor (née Nancy Langhorne of Virginia) who became Britain's first woman member of Parliament in 1919." The car is described as "an Essex Terraplane Light Six drop-head coupé". The book is photobased and shows a colourfull black & white collection of vintage photos (brochure shots, snapshots, news shots showing no less than 72 different makes of car from Allard to Winton. The known & famous are included of course but also the more obscure makes like Briscoe, Maibohn, Noma and Wichita ! In other words a must for the Anglo minded US car followers. Don't despair when your believes are completely opposing to this. Bryan is already collecting materials for a next book:'British cars in PreWar America'! (Bryan welcomes all prewar material that would fit the subject). Please advise what you (may) have [email protected]. As usual we will forward all relevant messages.
