Aintree's wet birthday party.

A personal report on last week's 'Aintree Revival' (officially: Aintree Motorsport Festival, The 50th Anniversary of the UK's 1st Classic Grand Prix Circuit) :
"Arriving at Aintree on a Novembers day was as expected a bracing experience and after putting on two jackets my hat and gloves unloaded the Hurg (edit. HRG) in sheeting sleet and rain. The organisers had erected large covered areas so at least the cars would be offered some kind of protection. The Aintree circuit club marshals did a splendid job the whole weekend and must be congratulated on their efforts to make the event an annual event. Got back into the Jaguar stripped off everything that was wet and pushed up the heater to full and drove home for the night through sleet and snow. Next morning arrived at 6.30 sharp and it was -4. The paddock was packed and the cold didn't seem to matter as the adrenaline kicked in.... (click photo to find Sir Stirling Moss)
