Balilla & Belle . (UPDATE)

The three speed Balilla was introduced in 1932 at the "Salone dell'Automobile di Milano". The target group for this light family car was of course very broad. Maybe with respect to easy handling it was shown many times (in photo and illustration) with female drivers. UPDATE (thank you Ced Pearce & Rutger Booy): A contemporary publicity poster by Marcello Dudovich (www.Art.com) first was condemned by the Pope, as the lady's rear end was considered a bit too graphic.
