Ban on Bull Bars

Many countries, especially the European ones, have plans to outlaw bull bars, those gridiron bars in front of the grille, presumably used to ward off the odd kangaroo on European roads. The reason is that bull bars are supposed to harm pedestrians in an accident. Pre-war cars shouldn’t worry if those laws are passed, because they have an alternative: the ‘Casco’ bumper, a pliable rubber bar in lieu of the front bumper. According to the Dutch advert this bumper provides protection against serious damage, up to a speed of 65 km/h when contact is made with another motorcar, although it doesn’t mention pedestrians.
