Keith Nordquist from the USA shares our enthusiasm for barn finds as he writes: “There is always something melancholy and romantic about finding old cars discarded in a shed or in a farmer’s pasture. My father and I took photos of them whenever we spotted some, just for fun. I was interested in b&w photography and did my own developing and printing. Now I have hundreds of photos of lost, forlorn and rusty wrecks. Some of them very interesting cars that collectors would love to have today. This one was taken around 1967, when you could still find cars from the twenties rusting in a field. In the foreground is an early 1920s Packard 6 and behind it an early 1918-19 Chevy Baby Grand. You can see me with my Brownie camera about to snap a pic of the Chevy’s engine and yes, the photo is in reverse due to my youthful inexperience at the enlarger.” Keep those photos coming, Keith, we love ‘m!
