Biggest Barnfind Ever !

Found after being forgotten for more than fifty years: Autodromo Nacional of Sitges/Terramar, near Barcelona. Well hidden in a huge farming estate. It was in 1922 when the first national cicuit of Spain was built. An avant-garde high banked circuit engineered for speeds up to 200 km/h. The engineering was way ahead its time with presumably prefab concrete elements that were put together on the spot. It's probably the most extreme high banked circuit that was ever built with an angle up to 60 degrees. Total length was/is 2 km layed down in kidney shape. The banking is all around, which means one could drive the circuit almost without steering and with full throttle. You can contact Peter Schömer for specific questions on this project. Clic the pic to have a look around at the circuit. You'll start at the building of the circuit. A 1923 racing report you'll find at Previous Features (photo courtesy Autodromo Nacional)
