Capturing the spirit. (UPDATE:photos)

A few days back we asked you to help a US thirties racing car fan on his quest for a car similar to our logo. Your response was heartwarming! When developing our logo 6 years back we wanted something that did not resemble any existing car. We wanted something that would capture the spirit of vintage motoring in the best sense. Yes we did take a look at lots and lots of pictures of cars of that era, however we overlooked the picture that was spotted by Roger Bowers, an orange filmposter of 1927...!. The cars you sent us are quite different: 1923/24 Amilcar CS, 1922 Chevrolet Model 490 racer, 1928 Chevy racer, 1925 V12 GP Delage, a vintage Frazer-Nash, 1922 Hodgson, a Lagonda special racer, 1914 Grand Prix Peugeot, 1926 NSU Rennwagen, Salmson S6D 90 HP, 1921 Sunbeam. What a collection! To cut things short, we didn't copy one car in particular, we tried to sketch the feeling of that era from our modern perspective. Looking once more at the above list of possible candidates we think we succeeded with what we had in mind. In the wording of Stuart Penketh ".... a 90 hp wind blowing in your hair type of experience." However we decide to send the T-shirt to Brendan Dillon who did in a 3-D way what we had in mind a few years back.
UPDATE by Editor; there was no time to upload all your great suggestions, but we will try to add those to tomorrow's feature.
