Dry-stored “waterfall”

This is the kind of barnfind we really like! Just check this 1938 Vauxhall 14/6 saloon that has been dry stored for over fifty years and is believed to have covered just 6,000 miles from new…! This Vauxhall with its “waterfall” grille was reputedly supplied new to a RAF officer who was killed during WW II. His widow then locked the saloon away for the next forty or so years. Following its release from her estate, the Vauxhall spent another decade in dry storage. Although it is a restoration project, the straight-six engine has been running again thanks to the installation of a new radiator. The black and green Vauxhall will be auctioned by H&H during their April 18 sale. It comes complete with a V5 registration document that records just one previous keeper from 1938 to 2006. At an estimate of £2,000-3,000 we think this timewarp is really an attractive offer. Check their lot 26! (photo courtesy H&H Classic Auctioneers) (RB)
