Electrifying Story.

The scarcity of fuel at the beginning of WW-II in Europe brought more than one man to the idea of producing alternatives. Earlier we showed you the Peugeot 400 EX that Paul Grant of Bruxelles is keeping in his showroom. The vintage jetfighter-like mobile shown here was no auto in the beginning. It started life as an pedalcar for adults. The 'Story' was made by the Internationale Automobiel Maatschappij in The Hague, Holland. The 'Mark II' came with a 30 V electromotor enabling the threewheeler with a topspeed of 25 km. The streamlined roadster body came from wellknown Dutch coachbuilder Pennock. See a 1948 Delahaye with Pennock body displayed for auction with Brooks during 2001 GoodWood (www.MotorSnippets.com). Now the question of the son of the Story driver pictured here is: "Who has more photos, documents and maybe even a real surviving Story?" Please write to Tjitte de Jong who -as you will understand- also came up with the photos; click photo for different perspective.
