Depression? Which depression?

Last Saturday's sale by by Christie's at Rétromobile Paris brought an auction record for a 1932 Bugatti T 55 Super Sport. The nicely patinated ex Le Mans 1934, ex Charles Brunet, ex Freddie Zehender (Golden Era racing drivers / Leif Snellman), ex Bill Serri Jr, fetched a stunning price that only very few expected during the current economic dip. Or is it just the WallStreets that are dipping and and are investors only moving their money to more tangible funds?
