During the 1920s a Model T with a straw hat on top was the pride and joy of Eduard Pelger, a prestigious man’s shop from The Hague in Holland. Not only did they supply Royalty but they were also granted Royal status in 1960 because of their 100 years of service. This Model T didn’t survive the war, but in the 1950s the Pelger Company bought a similar Ford like the one they once were so proud of. At several official occasions it was used in the presence of Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands which undoubtedly helped the Pelger Company receive the Royal status. In the 1970s the T-Ford was bought by Bas De Voogd who repainted the van in the livery of His Masters Voice. Alas, many years later Bas sold the Ford, but he is now curious about its current whereabouts. It may be painted differently, but without doubt some people will recall this Ford as several years ago it was exhibited and sold at the Essen Motor Show. Bas knows some interesting early history about this vehicle which will be available to the present owner if he can be traced. Any ideas? Mail to [email protected] (RB)
