Since Artcurial's very succesful auction(see Results) of exPeugeot Museum Peugeots, the prices of the French family car have rocketed. Frazer Sloan bought right in time, he recently snatched away this 'pearl' from the outskirts of Alicante in Spain. So far he has just one little problem....: no clue as to the exact type of Peugeot he found. Can you help? Click the main photo for more detail or have a peek at the interior Contact Us
UPDATE IV by (owner) Stefano Sanna: This is a Peugeot Torpedo cabriolet 172M s.n.199422 built on end 1927 or spring 28.( see also Read More)
UPDATE III by Fredi Vollenweider:"Possibly this Peugeot is type 190 S, built between 1928 and 1931. Technical specification is exactly the same as the model 172 S. Serial number of the 172 type starts at 4001 and ends at 262112, the 190 model starts at 270001 up to 428000. If the car is still fitted with the original engine, the serial number and the engine number are the same."
UPDATE II by Olivier Chabane: "This car is well Peugeot 172. If the width between the nose gear wheels is 97 cm, it is a 172 R of 1927. Body "torpedo tourisme normal"
If the width between the nose gear wheels is 106 cm, it is a 172 M of 1927. Body "torpedo tourisme élargie"
172 R:
Engine type "NE4", 720 cm ², 5hp, 60 hp SAE
172 M: Engine type "NE5", 695 cm ², 4hp, 60hp SAE
UPDATE by editor:"We think it is a Model 172 Quadrilette like the 1922 car recently sold at the Musée L'Aventure, check here.
