German art with a French topping.

It will be a busy weekend. We told you about the Duesenberg automobilia, yet at the same time you should be present at the Keels & Wheels Concours in Texas for the auction by the Worldwide Group . Most eyecatching piece of the auction is in our view the 1911 Mercedes pictured here. We have seen it with own eyes at Hershey two years ago and you have to see it to believe it. Most Merc's have presence with their nose. This one is no exception! (click). Due to the crowd we had no good overall view but the rear-to-front perspective gives an idea of the rolling design of the mahogany skiff boat-inspired coachwork. To get an idea with how much love for detail the restoration has been, here a glimpse of the interior will do. It wil be most interesting to see what the car will bring. The sad thing is that high end restorations like this rarely ever come to the road again. However somebody told us this car has seen many more miles since the resto than one would expect.
