History in making at the historic MG – Triumph 100 Silverstone Circuit

A festival of celebration!

This only happens every 100 years! The Pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club was present with a display at this large event with six of the club’s most historic cars attending, at the home of British Motor Sport – the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, organised by the Triumph Forum and MG car clubs on 10^th and 11^th June 2023.

Thanks go to John Lowe (Club Chairman) for all the running around to gather together the club's gazebo, regalia etc. plus trailering his Super Seven and manning our stand over the weekend.

Likewise Martyn deserves thanks for his two day stint on the stand, bringing his Gloria on the Saturday (it run sickly on the way home - probably suffering from heat exhaustion like the rest of us on this very hot summer day, so it was left in his garage on Sunday) and drumming up interest with club members.

Pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club members present with their Triumphs were; Mike Dacre with his very rare 1924 10/20 (pictured left) Mark Boldry with his Gloria, Mike Gillot with his Vitesse and Colin Bullock with his magnificent Dolomite Straight Eight (pictured middle) and probably the most valuable car from the hundreds on display. Other members attending were Peter Howat, Richard Pearce, Adam Pscinski from Poland and Graeme Shipman. Thank you all for attending.

It was certainly a great event (marshalled by many volunteers from the larger Triumph clubs) with plenty of things to see from the static MG and Triumph timelines to full blown racing on the GP circuit.

There was something for everyone at MG and Triumph 100. Racing was on the full Silverstone GP Circuit and featured both MG and Triumph marques in competition plus special guests.

So what will be in store at the next event the 200^th Anniversary?  I guess there will be few current members to witness this.
