How to add a little spice to a Concours d'Elegance... (UPDATE)

Update: Ton Hazelaar(NL) reports: "This 1934 Volpi - now with Dutch owner Harry Bootsma- once was the car of racing driver Nanni. Probably 4 - 6 were built, it's not exactly known."
EARLIER: When pur-sang rally expert Bart Rietbergen is organising a Concours d'Elegance there's no need to fear getting served a boring dish. Very few people will even consider asking a waver for an aerobatic show above(!) the former Dutch Royal Palace 'Het Loo' and at the same time ask a green light for prewar musclecar sprints on the stately driveway of the Palace.... The centuries old cobble stoned coachpath is accustomed to the clatter of horseshoes, carriagewheels and the fuming whisper of Minervas & Spykers. Certainly not to the raw tribal outcry of an Argentinian V-16 Volpi. It was as if the 'duende' that came to the royal Dutch family with the marriage of crown prince Willem Alexander and Argentinian born Maxima Zorreguieta once more gave way to its happines when the Volpi cleaned its 6 barrel throat at 100 decibels before it thundered down the shady lane. Superior show in all respects! Bravo to Bart and all the countless others who gave their time and energy to this spectacular weekend. Special thanks to Castricum Collector Cars for providing a barnfresh show-Bentley and of course PreWarCar's event sponsor Sharp Netherlands.
