In The Heart of the Wasatch Mountains

By Bob Rampton: On June 28th, 2009 the Alice Ramsey Centennial drive of Emily Anderson and her 1909 Maxwell called Babbs arrived in Park City, Utah for a couple of days for rest and repairs after a stressful drive through eastern Utah. Also traveling with Emily was Stijnus Schotte and his cousin Claus, in his historic 1907 Spyker of Peking-Paris 2005 fame.
Sunday morning found the Spyker team looking for a route into Salt Lake City that would be easier than driving the Interstate Highway with its high-speed traffic and crazy drivers. Amazingly, Stijnus had family living in Salt Lake City, and he needed to get to their house so he could catch a plane back to his home in The Netherlands and a new crew could arrive to take the Spyker on to San Francisco.
