Kevin Klatt writes us: "My dad has a 1920 Templar we would like to find out more information on the make of car and if there is a Templar car club, all we know that it was made for approx. 1916 to 1922. Any additional information would help."
Here we have no mystery, but an owner who likes to find out what he has! And what do they have ! We can (& will) send them the paragraph that you can look up in the Standard Catalogue of American cars. The lines begin with the "Super Fine Small Car" and all the facts written there about the modern design of the overhead alloy valve case. About the important men who were into this project. About Mr. Dean (ex Pope-Hartford & Matheson), Mr. Hackethal (ex Mercer) & Mr. Bartlet (ex Stearns). But before repeating all what we have read in the Standard Catalogue, we better invite the true expert to bring light in this issue. Here some more pics of the car. See full side. Check front suspension. Read the dash. Your comments are welcome: [email protected] (photos courtesy Kevin Klatt)
UPDATE II by Dave Buehler (The Templar Trust):"I have been seeking out and organizing
the Templar Owners Group for a few years now. I am Templar Car Collector as well as born and raised and still live in the town that they were manufactured, Lakewood, Ohio. I would be glad to try and help answer any of your questions or
comments. The original Templar Motors factory building
is still standing and being used daily."
UPDATE I by Rick A. Jorgenson who found an article on the history of Templar
the car is in I would say very nice unrestored condition,,,I am now retired and would love to be involved in your Templar group,,sorry for the long delay
