It’s a Great Day for the Irish

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, the day on which St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland is remembered. It’s a national holiday for Ireland, but it’s also celebrated in the many countries to which the Irish have emigrated. St. Patrick’s Day is commemorated with open air concerts, fireworks and a grand parade. New York has the eldest and biggest parade on Fifth Avenue, but also Dublin and other Irish cities have parades. Derek Wilson’s 1910 Wolseley 16/20 looks all set to lead the parade in Bandon, county Cork. (photos Derek Wilson)
