Just a great snapshot. III UPDATES

Sometimes we are just lucky to find a photo that is different from all other photos, like this one for example. Ordinary street scenes like these you will almost never find in family albums. The detailing is great not only of the man, his contemporary clothing, and the location, but also from a photographer's view: the second man, seen through the windscreen - the sunscreen mirrored in the rear window of the car. So simple, yet so rarely to be seen, unless you have been to an institute like GettyImages.com. UPDATES: We couldn't find Hecht Bros on the web, but in case you need a hat like these men wear, go to: Peters Bros. -since 1911 (thanks Jan!)
Then of course we got e-mail from Bob Swanson who recognises the car as being a 1932 Ford 3 window coupe and adding you can get bodies like that new(!) again at HotRodsandHorepower.com Thanks Bob!
Kit Foster reports that Hecht Co. (www.Goethe.de) once was prominent Washinton, DC department store. See painted walls (Baltimore Ghosts). Now it has been absorbed by the May Dept. Store chain, which includes Lord & Taylor, Filene's, and about 11 other once-grand USA names in retailing. Thanks Kit! (photo collection editor)
