Remember the Dürkopp we presented two weeks back? Radu Comsa of Romania found two photos of different but rather similar cars. Both with the very similar 'bathtub' style touring coachwork and V-shaped radiator. Were these cars mere trend followers after Karman made this for Mercedes-Benz, or was Karman the me-too manufacturer. That aside Radu Comsa of course would like to know which cars he is looking at Austro-Daimler, Presto, Stoewer, or ? To accomodate you, here a close up of the two V-shape radiators. The one on the left looks like Mercedes, but is missing the pointed star. The one on the right we have no clue. Please contact us if you know.
UPDATE III comes from Bozi Mohacek: I think the "Police force"picture is of a mid 1920s German Horch and the coachwork is known as "Tulip Bodied".
UPDATE II by Bas de Voogd who has one more of these cars in his photo collection, this one was in service with the Police force of Rotterdam, Holland. It seems this type of body style and radiator was very much 'en vogue' with German coach builders of the early twenties.
UPDATE by Bas de Voogd, he found that the car with the thin radiator shell is a 14/48 PS Opel from 1924; see Conam and also photos when scrolling down here.
