Michael Kurz (Germany) found himself a battered Lancia Astura some time ago. A true farm find, as it was not only found there, it also had been in service at the farm! We understand it is an Astura series 1 or 2 (can you tell which of both?). Changed into a tractor probably during wartime. The chassis has been cut short and the rear axle is fixed without any springs, like a 'hardtail' Harley. Michael writes: "They put a second gearbox in the drive, a Fiat (type # ? ). No body, but with the car is a second chassis in very good condition. I think people just took whatever they had in that era. This one has tyres, which have been used until the canvas came out. When I picked up the car, the owner made the engine (click) run, but I stopped it quickly !
Because so many body parts are missing it has to become a special. My dream could be an interpretation of the famous Touring " Flying Star" because this was existing on this chassis, said in the Touring book. Or do you have a better idea ? A woody maybe?"
