MECC / Interclassics is maturing.

After a few hesitating years Holland's retro show Interclassics has claimed a position on the European show calendar. Perfect atmosphere with a wide choice of vehicles, good clubstands, well sorted 'accessories' shops for lady-visitors (quite important!) and a good selection of international top cars. PreWarCar's choice as 'Best of Show' is this unrestored - until recently well campaigned - 1931 Invicta 4,5 litre S-type. No matter how beautiful the other displayed cars were, all insiders murmled about the Invicta which caused lots of greedy mobile phonecalls. The nice thing is that the car itself was not for sale but the sister car that is wrapped in boxes since 45 years.... The well attended auction by Coys could benefit from some higher quality cars, but the good sushi bar made up for the difference. Maastricht, next year we'll be back! (photos by editor)
