"When my father was a twenty year old student, about 60 years ago, he took a summer job with a CPR Canadian Pacific Railway (www.CPRheritage.com) work crew that made repairs to the tracks. The northern part of the province of Ontario is 2400 kilometers wide, so there is a lot of area to cover! The crew would sleep in the cabin built on to this truck, which has been adapted for rail travel. It has also been modified with small plows on the front, probably to remove debris off the tracks. (Bob Swanson ID-ed the truck as a 1935 Chevy ; www.Stovebolt.com). The joke in Northern Ontario: there are two seasons - winter and blackfly. They would not only sleep in the cabin, but use it as an escape from the clouds of blackflies (www.FishOntario.com) that are the curse of the Ontario bushland (www.GetNorth.com)." (text and photo sent by Laurel Coo. Laurel, thanks a million for all the great work you do for this website!).
(UPDATE I & II): Kit Foster wondered if this could actually be the Canada-only
'Maple Leaf' (Teamsters Museum). After careful examination of the full scan he concluded it is not so due to louvres, grille, and lack of hood nameplate.
