A not so every day Renault is this 1937 Nerva Grand Sport which is barnkept by the grandson of the first owner. Aside all what can be said about a rare car like this, for which Norway probably would be the very last place to search, are the stories that come with an automobile like this. One anecdote is saying something about the sturdiness of this 8 cylinder from Billancourt:
"In 1940 when the Germans invaded Norway, the head of the German invading force seized the house, car and driver to my great grandfather. They were used actively by the Germans and miraculously, all was returned in perfect condition when the Germans pulled out in 1944. Not many cars where as fortunate to survive the German army during the war."
Due to various circumstances the owners are considering to sell the car but need to be convinced by a new owner. Honesty dictates to say that the owners prefer to see the car to remain in Norway. See a few of the sister Renaults at this Renault collecting gallery. (photos Hans Sørensen)
