On the buses

A beautiful picture of an old-time village bus garage, with several buses from Southdown Motor Services Ltd. waiting to go on service. But in fact it’s a splendid recreation that can be found in the Amberley Working Museum. All the exhibits in this open-air museum are in some way related to the industrial heritage of which these buses certainly form an important part. Already many buses like this 1914 Tilling Stevens or this 1931 Leyland Titan TD1 have been restored by volunteers (click!) and there are many other buses waiting for their turn. Today the Amberley Working Museum opens for the new season and if you happen to be in the south-east of Great Britain, we can certainly recommend a visit. (photo’s Rutger Booy)
