This probably pre World War I shot of the Champs-Elysées is showing flocks of taxis. Nothing much has changed since then. So why not take your vintage French car out and drive it right into the Mecca of French motor industry? (maybe next year starting from New York like in 1908 ?). It's not only the city of Citroën. It produced hundreds of makes with among them not the smallest names. How about Amilcar, B.N.C. Hotchkiss, Lombard, Panhard, Delahaye and of course the French Hispano Suiza's? Anyway it is my dream to drive my little Amilcar down this boulevard and through the backstreets of le Quartier Latin. Of course at a very early Sunday morning hour. And at a slightly slower pace than the man in this short -uncut !!!- movie (by Truffaut or Godard?) in which he is racing in less than 5 minutes from the 'Périfique' to the very heart of Paris. Speeding down Champs-Elysées at more than 100 mph, crossing some 5 red traffic lights.... (photo E. Papeghin)
