Playboy without Centerfold.

'Fred' from the US was kind enough to borrow us the picture of his 1929 Jordan Playboy. To his displeasure most people know the make Jordan only from the fabulous advertising of those days. The most wellknown ad showing a girl chasing a train with the headline 'Somewhere west of Laramie' , an ultimate piece of romantic short copy (173 words) that made hundreds of female readers asking the copywriter to marry her. (example: '...there's a bronco-busting, steer-roping girl who knows what I'm talking about. She can tell what a sassy pony that's a cross between greased lightning and the place where it hits, can do with eleven hundred pounds of steel and action when he's going high, wide and handsome...' It's not hard to imagine that words like these slightly overshadowed the high quality engineering of the car itself. Do you want to learn more about Jordan, than contact the small but very much dedicated Jordan Motor Car Preservation Society at www.Hemmings.com. (thanks to Fred for photo and Jordan materials)
