PreWarBuick.com should stay!

Paul Delucchi recently came with the sad announcement that his brainchild PreWarBuick.com is closing down within two weeks from now. P.W.Buick has been eating all his spare time and money as well (sounds familiar ;-). Sharp profile websites like his attract photos, documents and experts that otherwise would get lost in the mist of time and thus become knowledge centers for automotive historians. At PreWarCar we try to connect these knowledge bases and maybe help to fill in a few little blanks in car history. Like today's easy example. Paul sent us this photo of a 1935 promotion Buick. Under enlargement we checked all text that is on the car. Among the loads of technical hihglights we found the dealer's address: "10th - Harmon". MPLS. stands for Minneapolis. With that knowledge we tried the Virtual Photo Tour of Minneapolis. Nothing there, except that webmaster Chris Gregson (THNX!) told us to search the online photo catalogue of the Minnesota Historical Society. A few hundred clicks later "Yes!" --->>> Stephen's Buick (CollectionsMNHS.org). It's the same building, the car is photographed at exactly the same location...! Now if you have some minutes to spend in this archive and do a search-query for Buick or Stephens you will find amazing things. Do us a favour before it is too late and send a thank-you or a supporting e-mail to Paul ( photo by kind permission of Mr. Les Heller)
