Reviving a Circus Artist

This rusty two-seater belongs to John Jarrett, who tells us that it once starred in the Wall of Death. To stay on the wall it used to be fitted with eleven inch disc wheels, although nowadays there are Austin Seven wheels at the front making it look more like a pre-war special. It also has a tubular frame, Fiat 500 front suspension and Austin Seven rear axle. At one time lights have been fitted, probably to make it suitable for the road. Unfortunately the engine, which was believed to be a Douglas twin, is missing. But what is it...? A one off? Or was there a small production of these specials? Tell us what you think, as John wants to bring it back to its former glory. Great idea, we think, but where will he find the lion willing to share the ride? Contact us (RB)
