S.C.A.T. information wanted. (UPDATE)

UPDATE from Robert Dick from Germany: "1920 SCAT specification: quoted by the French magazine "La Vie Automobile" on 10 January 1920: type 12/18 HP, bore/stroke 75/120 mm, L-head, chain driven camshaft, crankshaft in three plain bearings, pressure lubrication (gear pump), high tension magneto, Zenith carburettor; multidisc clutch, 4-speed gearbox, torque tube rear axle, 15x60 differential; wheelbase 291,5 cm, track 135 cm, tyres 765/105. The car on the picture is most probably such a 12/18 HP 75/120 mm model. A 12/18 HP was exhibited at the 1919 Paris Salon (in addition to a larger 25/35 HP - 100/150 mm, wheelbase 317,5 cm, tyres 820/120)." Thank you Robert!
EARLIER TEXT: From Norway we received this question: "Enclosed a picture of my grandfather in his SCAT – probably a 1920 model – in Bergen. I am very interested in any information about the model on the picture particularly, and SCAT in general."
The Societa Ceirano Automobili Torino started in 1906. It was founded by Giovanni Ceirano who left the works around 1916-17. Most fame of S.C.A.T. came from three pre-WW-I Targa Florio victories. Hispano-Suiza took over control for a few years, but in 1923 Giovanni - who was very active in the Italian car industry - came back to S.C.A.T. Maybe one of our more knowledgeable readers is able to give a precise identifaction of your grandfathers car. Please send your comment to [email protected]. (click photo for more detail)
