We received a special request from John B. Haydon who lives in Milwaukee. He is writing an article about the Vanderbilt Cup and Grand Prize road races which were held in Milwaukee in 1912 and is looking for information about these races, particularly related memorabilia. Although a good deal of factual information has been obtained, his research has only uncovered a modest amount of related material. For example, John is looking for programs for the 1912 Milwaukee races, ticket stubs, original detailed map of the course, advertising posters and letters regarding the races, or similar items which could supplement the article. John already has some good pictures, like the ones shown here, but he is also seeking more original pictures relating to the races: not just the cars, but specifically the course, the drivers, spectators, grandstands, box seats, pit crew, race officials, workers, militia, and related human interest pictures. If you have any of this historic material, or information regarding these items, John would greatly appreciate your help in his quest. You can call his mobile phone(Cell: 414-732-5013) or mail us!
Update: Stuart Penketh found a lot of photograpic information (of the 1910 races) in the George Eastman Photo-archives, by Nathan Lazarnick (1879-1955).
