To understand the background of the reproduced article at 'Read More' you have to learn a little about the town Napier in New Zealand with its old Art Deco center. The article about a special order Pierce-Arrow was published in December 1934 in the New Zealand Observer (1880-1954). The car extolled in the article, one of several Pierce-Arrows owned by Mr Husheer, is now in the Southward Motor Museum at Paraparaumu. All of the other Husheer Pierce Arrows are still in existence, and are in New Zealand with the exception of the last of them, a 1936 model which is somewhere in Australia, whereabouts unknown. The article was supplied by Maurice Hendry of Auckland, who was also at one time the owner of this car. (photos by courtesy ArtDecoNapier.com)
