Last week’s post-war J-40 pedal car prompted Tom Laferriere to send us a picture of a real pre-war car. It’s a Stutz Bearcat Toy Car manufactured by the Marx Toy Company. The little Stutz is battery-operated and has forward and reverse gear change. At the wheel is Tom’s 16 month old son Richard. The Louis Marx Company was in business from 1909 until 1978 and its toys have become real collectors’ items. However, little seems to be known about this Stutz. Who can tell us more about it? Mail us! And more than that, where to find a replacement for the missing Gray & Davis headlight (if that is what Stutz was carrying...)
