Alweays these terrible typos that we make. Now Paul Delucchi had to explain again that Laramie is with íe'in stead of 'y'..... Thanks for sending the Laramie postcard, Paul! (www.Rootsweb.com)
EARLIER: Please bear in mind, the above words are not our's. It is the headline of a magazine advert for an American make of car that is more wellknown for their ads than for their cars. Yes, of course we are talking about 'Somewhere West of Laramy' Jordan. These ads had a poetry in the copy that was very uncommon for those days, even for today. We cite a 1920 ad for the Jordan Brougham:"Nimble light-footed and ecomonical, this eager, responsive car slips through the city canyons, dispatches the day's work and grants an hour to loiter the world go by..." Sounds more like a Lexus ad than for a prewar piece of equipment! "Here is a car for the man who knows how to play as hard as he works-a vigorous, reliable companion for the boy with the roving eye, and the girl who loves the ranges of the open road." .... those were the days!
