The Colonel built Mamma Moss a car.

Colonel Marendaz was a fighter pilot from WW I who kept the urge for speed in his blood. He started building his own cars in 1926, making use of 4 cylinder Anzani engines. Later Continental and even a Coventry Climax 1900 cc 6 cylinder. When in 1936 production ceased he had built some 60 cars, most for use in rallies and races. The parents of Stirling Moss were among his clients. Mamma Moss loved racing. The car we see above was in auction on 10 Oct. 2001 at Coys in London. (photo courtesy Coys of Kensington)
