This is about the gray line between part & collectible. A short while back a very friendly man heard about our love for Amilcars and said: "Give me your business card and I'll send you a bottle of Amilcar." To my surprise two weeks later a small brown box arrived by mail. Inside this bottle a glass bottle with the name of the make carved and then colored with a brownish gold. The color of the liquid inside is something like Drambuie, the after dinner drink prepared from a secret recipe in the Isle of Skye (Asahi-net.or.jp). The accompanying label told differently: it is French Antar oil (pages of the Delage club). Meant as a petrol additive for extra lubrication to the engine's upper part. Now how should we treat an item like this? As an early disposable? Pour it out and dump the glass? Or put in the trunk of the car for a you never know moment. Or put it in a shrine with other collectable gems? For sure everybody has his or her own answer. But please don't worry about the fate of this particular flask. Many, many thanks to the man who sended the bottle. (photo editor)
