The Heartbeat of Santiago.

Rutger Booy reacts within this 'truck' series: "Since it seems that we are on the subject of cars that have to work for a living, this little 1/2 ton 1938 Chevy pickup (according to Kit Foster a 1 1/2 ton is to be seen at BlackHill Antique Auto surely deserves to be mentioned. Whilst living in Santiago de Chile in 1994, every morning this pickup drove into my street, parked on the corner and there it waited for things to happen. This never took long, because the little pickup and its driver could be rented to haul small freights from one part of the city to another. The car and its driver had been doing this for ages and as far as I know they can still be found on the corner of Monjitas and Mosqueto." (click photo for background info on Santiago de Chile)
