The king of Jordan? (UPDATE: Cadillac)

While visiting the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, Duncan Millar found this somewhat faded photograph. There was no explanation on the picture about the reason for this group of officials posing with the automobile: the only note we could find is that it was taken in Amman ca. 1940. We suspect that posing next to the car could be Abdullah I, the king of Jordan, who established the Kingdom in 1921. Incidentally, today May 25th, is Jordan’s official Independence Day. However, we are not sure if it is really king Abdullah and would love to hear from you if you can tell us more about king or car. Contact us (RB)

UPDATE by Kit Foster: “Car is a 1929 Cadillac. I'm not sure about the king.”
