The times they are a-changing. Presented with great pride in the immense (editors guess 15,000 m2) MB-stand at the Essen Techno Classica is not a better than new restored Gullwing. Not even a possible candidate for the Pebble Beach 'Preservation Class'. What we see is a well used 1936 W29 500 K(ompressor). The 5 litre (thank you for the correction Al...!) engine should produce 160 HP with compressor and should enable the top class cabriolet to achieve a top speed of 160 km/hour (100 mph). This we didn't look up, it is stated at the presentation standard with the car (see tech. specs. ). Maybe before entertaining a 'Test-Fahrt' it is an idea to use a vacuum cleaner on the interior to take away the debris left by a former owner. But most important aspect, it looks like 'Das Haus' has added a new and highly appreciated ingredient to their marketing mix: humour
