The Romanian Connection

Now that the eastern part of Europe is opening up more and more, we get to see many ‘new’ pre-war cars. Mircea Ursache informs us of the ‘Clubul Vehiculelor de Epoca din Romania’ (CVER or Old Vehicles Club of Romania). It’s a non-profit organisation dedicated to help the owners of older cars and to preserve the heritage of the cars. The club now has thirty members owning various cars from 1914 till 1984, including several Model T’s, Model A’s, a Czech Aero, and DKW. The club tries to convince their members to replace their classic models with pre-war cars in order to increase the interest for their club. Although the spare parts problem is enormous, as parts are virtually non-existent in Romania, hopefully we can be a great help help to them.
