The Zoo.

This scene is what gives me the creeps. To drink tea in view of a former "F1" car that probably never will return to the tracks... While this magnificent Panhard Levassor 1908 GP should be driven to the limit like Nick Mason's one in 'Passion fo Speed' or like the one I once saw pounding up Prescott Hill. Never, never should such machinery languish at a Sunday's Swiss bazar where the only thing it can do is drewel on a piece of Axa-sponsored paper like a worn out leopard in a zoo. A car like this needs to spil gallons of single grade on a -preferably- unpaved street circuit. It should scare away the crowds with the mighty thunder from it's thigh-thick exhaust instead of showing a teethless smile as from a 90 year old flapper girl. Irving Silverman, the man who once owned my Amilcar, wrote down that not one of his cars ever was to be sold to a museum. A car belongs to the roads and the tracks. The only reason to stay in a room is to be fixed or fettled. ..... suddenly I had this wicked thought that this P.L. maybe never-ever was a racer, but an ordinary ex-army jeep that has been 'restored' to new specs; check for referal this superb Panhard gallery!
