Undoubtedly you’ll have noticed that tomorrow the Olympic Winter Games will start in the Italian city of Turin. For those who’ll be going there, we would like to point out that very close to the Lingotto Oval, where the speed skating will be held, is another Oval that was used for speedy events. Of course we refer to the famous test track (click!) on the rooftop of the old Fiat factory at 250, Via Nizza (rebel.net). Finished in 1922, the factory was the largest in Europe. But production ceased and the building has now been adapted to a multi-purpose exhibition- and concert hall. The test track is still there though. (photo courtesy Dennis David). (RB)
