Two Rileys under the bonnet: Autovia V8 !

At the end of the thirties Autovia was a kind of 'Lexus' (excusez le mot) operation by Riley in attempt to explore the high end of the market. For that purpose two 1,5 litre Riley engines were glued together to form a four cam V8, feeded by four SU's to produce 100 HP. The hi-tech unit landed in a very small number of cars of which an even smaller number survived up to this day. Some live an interesting life as a racing special (see Marcel Roks Classics). The tantalizing red roadster above emerged from a private collection in Austria recently. Check the recent listings of Italparts.
