Warning to all Concourse organisers. (UPDATE: more remains of the original)

Ten days back we had this old story about an ill famed Bugatti T57S. We understand this amazing concoction is still around. Jack Braam Ruben sends these photos that were made at Kruse, Auburn, Indiana some 27 years ago: "This replica was created by De Dobbeleer on a standard, high, LWB yet shortened T57 chassis. It was sold by Tom Barett to Jacques Harguindeguy. The car was awarded with a second overall place at Pebble Beach, 1976! Later it was sold to a surgeon and currently the car is in the collection of Samsung, the colour now being red. Pebble Beach and other concours organisers are warned for this and similar cars. The original, real car underwent heavily body changes in a distant past and sold to the painter Derain who changed the coachwork in a way that getting in and out the car was made easier. Again later on the car was rebodied by Ghia and... stolen in front of the Gare du Nord in Paris. All what remains of the original car is the engine. A second well known replica was created by Eric Koux. Provenance is everything..." (photos courtesy Jack Braam Ruben)

Bart Oosterling found another fairy tale Bugatti based on the original T57S at Jaap Horst's Bugatti page
